How long must pass before you contact the authorities about your concerns before your inaction renders you potentially complicit in the situation? A week? six weeks? A year? I don't know the solution, but there are times when you have to look at yourself in the mirror and remind yourself that you have two choices: speak up or carry the guilt of your silence.

Paul White wrote the "Jungle Doctor" tales many years ago to teach kids about morality and values. One tale is about a leopard cub that a community took in as a pet, and it's meant to show how minor lies frequently lead to greater and bigger lies, and before you know it, there's a major problem! The leopard is raised as a member of the community, but when it is an adult, it mistakenly ingests human blood and it is only a matter of time until it murders a youngster. The "punchline" is maybe overly dramatic: "Little leopards grow into large leopards, and big leopards kill."
